Saigon

The presidential palace in Saigon was built in the 1960's. This is a rare example of beautiful 1960's architecture. The president who it was built for never got to see it completed, he was so hated that his own airforce bombed the palace. This attempt failed, but not the next one!
I love this place, I think it's because it could be the lair of a Bond Baddie, and that's a good thing. It even has a terrace for a helicopter to land on. It was also the first place the north Vietnamese troops went to when they arrived in Saigon, to take control of the city in 1975.
