June 4th and we were in Chiang Mai, north Thailand. We got up and went to our hostel reception, there was no one else around. After speaking to the person at reception, we realised that we were the only people staying there at the moment. All through our travels in Vietnam people had been talking about how it was low season, but we hadn't seen any signs of it, until now. We set off into town and realised that we were about 30 mins walk outside the old town and decided that we would find somewhere else to stay. Luckily I had only booked us in for 2 nights and at 1 pound for the night, with the airport pick up, I didn't mind being there 2 nights. So we found somewhere else to stay, set up a trekking tour for Betsy and got a massage.
Central Chiang Mai really was quiet, there were so people on the streets, it was crazy. After dinner we walked back to our hostel and packed up for the move in the morning. We moved, Betsy left her stuff at the new hotel, costing about 2 USD a night and went off trekking. I moved into the internet cafe and resolved to catch up with my blog and uploading my photos. Ms. Exciting, no?
