May 25th was our last day in Hoi An. It had been really nice staying here, it had been good to be somewhere for a few days. I really liked the vibe of the place and would definitely consider coming back. I can't say the same about Hue. So we went to pick up our clothes and of course, it was at this point that I realised that I had bought too much, but too late! We then went on a walking tour of the old tour, which is an Unesco world heritage site. Without knowing it we had already seen a lot of what there was to see, but no matter. We had dinner near to our travel cafe and caught the bus to Nha Trang, the next stop on our trek south.
We got off the bus at 04.30, another early start. The driver let us off at a gas station, which was the nearest point on the main road to our guesthouse. Then it was a 1/2 hour ride on the back of a scooter over a gravel track. For some reason my driver would slow down, fall behind Betsy's driver and then speed up again and overtake. I was convinced that I was going to come off at any minute.
We got to Jungle Beach guest house at 5am, just as the sun was coming up. I was glad to see someone was up and about to open the gates and let us in. We dumped our bags in our beach hut and I resolved not to move for the rest of the day. And I didn't. I didn't move a whole lot the next day either, May 27th. Except in the evening we got a cab with Anders and another guy into Nha Trang to catch our bus to Saigon, the last leg of our trip through Vietnam.
