Kuching

Tuesday June 22nd was a day to ourselves. We woke late, showered and were generally slow moving and gentle. We headed out to look at the local shops. When we found this too taxing we walked along the waterfront and looked at the view. Lunch was at a local restaurant and one of the first meals where we ordered and paid for ourselves. It was a novelty. After lunch our luck broke and it started to rain a lot, so we made a dash to the guest house and played cards until it stopped. We went to take a look at the local Chinese temples and then since it was after 5pm and the bar in our guest house was open we went back and started to drink and play more cards.
When it came time to eat we were not in the mood to move and ordered delivery pizza, which was perfect. A nice gentle day.
The next day was Meghan and Christophes last. Lo picked us up, we went for breakfast and then a walk in the park. We popped by to see William (a Hash man) and then to the Sarawak National museum. There are a lot of interesting exhibits there, not least a mock head hunters house with real skulls hanging from the ceilings. I had hoped that the skulls were fake, but no. We had lunch with William and walked back to the guest house so we could pick up the bags. Lo picked us up once again and it was off to the airport to drop off M & C. It was sad to say goodbye again, but it was tinged with happiness as I had been able to see them again way earlier than expected.
Lo took Betsy and I back to his house and we looked at his photos while we uploaded ours to our hard disks and then onto a cd.
Betsy and I then had a couple of hours to ourselves before Lo picked us up for dinner with him and his wife. We had met her before, but not had dinner. We went to another corner cafe,101, that they hadn't been to before and ordered so much food. Later it was to the Happy Valley bar for more drinks and then home to bed.
