April 22nd, we walked through Iyo Saijo town to the train station and took a train to near Sankaku ji (no.65) ,our last temple in Ehime prefecture and started the day as normal, with prayers. Then we got a lift to Unpen ji (no.66) the highest temple on the circuit and back in Tokushima prefecture, Daiko ji (no.67), Jinein (no.68) and Kanon ji (no.69) ,which are in the same grounds, from a lovely lady,Oba san, who was driving the pilgrimage on her days off. She was so apologetic that she couldn't take us further. I was just so happy that I hadn't had to climb to Unpen ji, that it didn't mater to me. Also we were 3 quaters of the way through the pilgrimage and it was looking likely that not only would we finish the pilgrimage, but would do so early. I was a happy bunny.
From Kanon jo we walked to Motoyama ji (no.70), a short walk of about 6 kms. Then we took a local train and walked another 4kms to an onsen close to Iyadani ji (no.71) and had a bath. For some reason we were both really tired at this point with very sore feet again. So when we went into the onsen and the lady told us that we couldn't take our bags into the changing room, it was not received in the best humour. Unfortunately the lady caught us at a bad time, not helped by us having to get our fresh clothes and washing gear out of our bags in their reception area!!At least it was my clean knickers I was waving around. We also had dinner there and set up the tent behind the onsen building. It was a bit of a late night for us, we didn't go to bed until 10.30pm, about 2 - 3 hours later than normal! We really were party animals on this trip@!@
