East to West Washington

I relaxed with Kenna at home on Monday and planned my next move. I would go to Seattle and hopefully go to the Immigration and Naturalisation Service and sort out an extension to my visa. Of course, I suspected that it would not turn out to be as easy as I hoped...but for once I was playing the optimist. Tuesday 29th September was spent at the Morgan's house regrouping and doing laundry. It was such a joy to be able to get up warm and then have a hot shower, followed by a breakfast prepared by Jim. I am really not made to rough it. Luxury is the way to go. In the evening Kenna and I went out to a local Thai restaurant for dinner, the food was great and there were even left overs for lunch the next day.
I packed up, said my goodbyes to Kenna and Jim dropped me off at the bus station. The bus left late but I didn't have to sit next to anybody,so that was good. We made a couple of stops en route to Seattle and I got to see the first snow of the season. True it was on the tops of hills but it did bring it home to me that the seasons are advancing and I will be in winter soon. I have no winter clothes whatsoever, I will have to buy a new winter jacket and long underwear. As we have already discovered I am not a big fan of being cold. I arrived into Seattle on time and as I have no idea of how the bus system works I walked to my hostel, I say my hostel, but I didn't have a reservation. I was just hoping that they weren't too busy on a Wednesday at the tail end of September. They weren't, I paid for two nights, I was still hoping that some of my couchsurfing requests would pay off. I had a quiet night sorting myself out and having my left overs for dinner, then off to sleep in the dorm. No private room for me for a while.
