This is the first time I've been near a computer in a while, so have lots to write.So Tues April 7th we went to Miyajima in the morning. Really lovely place, but so touristy, I was looking forward to getting out of the city. We took a train from Miyajima to some nowhere town and then walked to the nearest expressway service area. We got a ride to Oonomichi with this young couple who didn't wear their seatbelts. Unfortunately we couldn't wear ours either, it was a bit scary. Inb Oonomichi we went to Sentoki park and did Hanami. It was great, we were given food and alcohol, so it turned into a good night. We then camped in the park.
Weds Apr 8th was the day of the big bike ride. We rented bikes at around 9am and set off to Imabari, 70 kilometres away, with rucksacks. The ride was beautiful, but almost killed me!!Photos to follow. We ate and cleaned up at another rest area and camped under the cherry blossom.The ride took about 8hrs and I am not sure that my nether regions will ever forgive me.
The next day we walked to the express way service station and hicth hiked to the start of the 88 temple hike, in Inato. We started on Thurs Apr 9th at around 3.30pm and made it to temple 3 that day. (Temple names to follow!). We camped at a shrine!!
