After I got back to the hostel and my fingers were working again I called Miller to see what our plans were for the evening. Miller had problems with his apartment and didn't think that he would be able to make it out. I should have been more upset than I was as this would be my last chance to see him as I was planning to leave the following morning, but it did mean that I wouldn't have to face the cold again. That was worth a lot to me. I told Cass and Heather and they decided that they were going to have a night in the hostel too, none of us wanted to brave the cold just for a night out. We made a short trip to a local off licence and brought the bar to us. We sat in the hostels t.v. room with four people from the U.K. Pip, Alex, Dave and another Heather. I can't remember who it was now but someone decided that it was boring all of us just sitting there and drinking so we should play a drinking game. The game was played while we were watching "Diehard". You had to drink every time you saw someone with a bad 80's haircut, when Bruce got a new stain/tear on his shirt, when there was shooting and finally twice when there was an explosion. It very quickly went downhill from there, not helped by the fact that I was drinking beer and cider. All the others decided to go out to a local bar, I said that I would stay in and go to bed. Well that was the plan anyway, what actually happened is that I moved to the lounge and continued drinking with some other hostel guests. I was given more beer and even a couple of pairs of socks after mentioning that I was getting holes in mine (not surprising really after nine months of travel). I was having such a good time that I was still there when Cass came back. At that point I thought it wise to retire as I was going to be spending most of the next day on a bus on my way to Montreal. And I had still to book the bus.
I did get up on Sunday but wasn't able to book the bus. Since I didn't fancy walking to the bus station with my bag and then finding out that I couldn't get a ticket I arranged to stay an extra night at the hostel. I sent Maryna a message, apologised for my lack of planning, that I would be arriving in Montreal a day late. I hoped that she wouldn't mind. I jumped in the shower as I hadn't bothered before when I thought I would be spending the day on the bus, I even shaved. I spent a quiet morning trying to rehydrate to counter my hangover and dreading another day in Toronto. I had only had four things listed to do while I was in the city, there just wasn't anything else that I was interested in seeing. I could of gone to the Hockey Hall of Fame, but since I had already seen Wayne Gretzky's skates, what more was there to see? I ran into Cass just as I had decided to go and get some lunch and she decided that some food sounded good too. After lunch we went to see "Sherlock Holmes", I enjoyed the film and am expecting a sequel. The evening was spent quietly in the hostel playing boards games as it was games night. I caught my bus the next morning and it was "Sayonara" Toronto.
